A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Indiana Funeral Care at 11 am. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the service time of 11 am. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery where there will be a Military Honors presentation by The United States Marine Corps.

Irvin H. Pollard was born on May 2nd, 1933 to his parents, Webster and Sarah Pollard. Who preceded him in death along with a brother, Jeremiah. He attended Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from Crispus Attucks High School in 1951. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Korean conflict. He retired from U.S. Army Finance and Accounting center after 30 years.

He professed his faith as a Seventh-Day Adventist and worshiped at Capitol City Seventh -Day Adventist Church on 62nd Street. He was a loving husband and father he had a passion for jazz music, Sports, and playing the keyboard. He enjoyed coaching Youth Sports.

Irvin departed this life on November 2nd, 2017, leaving to cherish his memory, his wife Rose Pollard, two sisters, Kay Francis Saunders of Evansville and Ada Pollard. Five children, Vicky, Jerry, Michael (La Shauna), Mark, and Matt Pollard; Two stepchildren, Gina Bragg in Roger Horne; 18 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren, Kara Day, Nene Horne, and Marika and Mariah Bragg; Along with a host of Family and Friends.

    Hello, the reason why I’m writing this message is because we are talking to people about what the Bible says, and telling them that there is a hope for people that have pasted away. The Bible says in John 5:28,29
    “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
